Distance Ourselves

From comments like this.

In his column, which ran Wednesday on the opinion page and was posted on the newspaper’s Web site, [Rene] Gonzalez called the former Arizona Cardinals safety a “G.I. Joe guy who got what was coming to him.”
“That was not heroism,” Gonzalez wrote. “It was prophetic idiocy.”

Hey, I’m all for freedom of speech. But this cleary goes over the line.

I really wish the Greenshirts would shut up about this. It discredits the reasonable anti-war majority. Unless it’s about crimes or atrocities committed by our soldiers, as CBS apparently documented last night, my opposition to these wars is not about the soldiers. It’s about Bush’s mishandling of the Afghanistan war, and about his utter lies to get us into Iraq in the first place — and then his mishandling of that war.
These kinds of comments are as ignorant as the pro-war chickenhawk crowd.

I seriously can’t believe some people talk like that.

The more I think about it, tho, the more I’m proud to be a liberal Democrat. Most of us, besides the extreme idiot wing of the Democratic Party, are quick to condemn people like this. When the extreme Republicans say something stupid, they’re first defense is to say it was a joke. We’ve got the moral high ground here.

Something funny just happened. Some dickhead found my sight through a google search and left a bunch of nasty comments. “YOU STUPID SOCIALIST PIG!” Of courese I deleted them and banned his IP address, but isn’t that funny. I love the wingnuts!

Must be pissed at his mom calling down to the basement telling him to get off Little Green Footballs and go to bed.

HA, I love those teeny bopper fascists. You know, on that note, I think we’re heading back to the world of calling each other “commie pinkos” and “fascists.” This time, we’ll be called “liberals,” but they’ll still be “fascists.” Which side do you think will start with the name calling?
