Where Does The Time Go

Sometime in December, in the middle of my break from blogging, it occured to me that I wanted to recognize this blog's first B-Day when it came around. Well wouldn't you know it, nosey online's first b-day came and went a month ago. Even though I've been scarce the last six months, there's a reason I've kept this place open. A redesign will come shortly. So for those (few) of you still around, thanks for checking in from time to time.

Guns Don't Kill People, Terrorists Do

This one is funny. Not funny "ha-ha", funny "oh...my..God, yikes".

WASHINGTON (AP) — More than 40 terror suspects on federal watch lists were allowed to buy firearms in the United States last year because background checks found no reason to stop them, says a government report released Tuesday.

Under current law, belonging to a suspected terrorist organization does not prohibit a person from owning a gun, the Government Accountability Office noted in its study.

We're not talking about more checks, or making the screening process more meticulous. It's something as simple as excluding potential terrorists from buying guns. It's as simple as that. But of course, anything to protect our country that goes against GOP beliefs gets put aside.

Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut

I don't know where the title of this post came from today, but oh well. Anyway, Kos brought up something yesterday that has been in the back of my mind for awhile.

I still see references all over the place about Gore's cable network, with people wondering when the "liberal cable network" will launch.

Gore's network is not a "liberal news" operation. It's not our version of Fox News. It's going to be a post-MTV generation "reality show"-type network. The idea, as I gather, is to have shows where viewers tape their own segments, send them in, and the best get aired. Or something like that.

However, there's big money working right now to create that Fox News alternative. It just won't happen anytime too soon (as in the next year or two), and it won't be led by Al Gore.

First off, I have been wondering for awhile whatever happened to Gore's TV network. I was always aware that it wouldn't be the liberal answer to the Fow News Propaganda Wing of the Republican Party. Alas, I was not aware of talk concerning an alernative to FNC. If Air America's amazing success is any indication, a real liberal cable news channel should do just as well. But I have one question. Will the not-yet-announced-or-named channel have to claim to be fair and balanced to be as successful, or will it be out of the closet liberal? Just wondering.

Comment Underground

Read this first.

Then go here.

I've never read any kind of comment section attached to an article before. It's actually real funny. Here are just a few of the wonderful, articulate posts.

Over and over we see liberals saying that this is what Terri would have wanted.

But how do they know this? Whose word do we have?

Michael Schiavo's.

Let's take a quick look at what this man's word is worth.

He swore a legally binding oath in court that if he were awarded a fortune of hundreds of thousands of dollars of other people's money, he would use it only for Terri's care.

Subsequently, he has hoarded the money. He refused permission to treat an infection that ravaged his wife's body. He even refused permission to have her teeth cleaned, making it eventually necessary for several of her teeth to be removed.

This is a man whose word we should believe when he claims, with no evidence, that his wife, raised a traditional, non "dissenting" Catholic, wanted a remorseless legal campaign to force her death via starvation and thirst if she were ever helpless and voiceless? And the fact that he stands to inherit the hundreds of thousands of dollars if she dies, the fact that he has been living with another woman for years, and thus has obvious personal and financial conflicts of interest?

Liberals don't know, don't want to know, or don't care. So they are ignorant, stupid, or evil. All of them.

No well-informed person of goodwill can want to kill Terri.

I'm sure that guy has ALL the facts as well...

well... the liberal media sleazebags are at it again. Using this tragedy to print another anti-Busch story. Maybe they will wake up and see that the people are smarter than they think and instead of beleiving their dribble the people will just tune them out even more than they have already. Fox news will appreciate a few more new viewers. These spineless sleazebag "journalists?" are the only ones I can think of that are lower on my "prayer list" than Michael Schiavo.

So Busch the beer guy is in office? Hmm...

If the Bush borthers believe the crap they've been spouting, they have to send in the Guard. But a couple thousand armed troops guarding Shaivo will be a couple thousand not available to guard the Iraqi oil fields.

Onward Christian Soldiers...

And my favorite...

Good job liberals. You love to murder babies, now you have moved up to the disabled. Whats next? all religious people.

To be fair, there are plenty of left-leaning comments, but I just love to pick on the funny people.
