Tim Tagaris documents last Saturday's Mass Canvass event in Ohio's Second Congressional district. In case you don't know, there is a special election on August 2nd to fill a vacant seat. This is a very southern Ohio (near Cincinnati), very Republican area. The national GOP kind of took that fact for granted and hasn't really done much to support their candidate. Conversely, there has been a huge grassroots effort to support the Democratic candidate, Paul Hackett, a Major in the Marine Corps. On Saturday, when the Democratic headquarters was pulsing with activity, there was no one to be found at the GOP office.
Hilarious. It's when your enemy is sitting smugly enjoying victory where their defeat becomes inevitable.
